Challenge #299 - Ribbons and Buttons - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, where do these weeks go, here are half way through the year I cannot believe its only 6 months to Christmas what a thought. Anyway this weeks Challenge is all about

Ribbons and Buttons

and for this we would like to see you using both of these but its not critical and Im sure the choice is entirely up to you.
But firstly you will want to know who our Sponsors are and as always our sponsers are The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30. to spend on their website

But as always it comes with the rule that you must have used one of their products on your card or project, this could be a Image, Paper or Printable and even if you dont, they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice, so it really is a win win situation dont you think.
And now to show you the card I created for this Challenge

This image reminds me so much of my own mum as she had a treadle machine on which she created such beautiful clothes for myself, brother and sister she was extremely talented and to hear the noise of the foot treadle going up and down was music to our ears. She is called "Vintage Seamstress" and you will find her here, I printed her onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens, afterwards I used a Nestabilitie die to cut her out and a larger one for the mount.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of brown card the backing paper is also from the same image set and you will find that here as well. I then placed my mounted image towards the top left and the Sentiment was one I found on the internet and then printed it and mounted this also onto a piece of the same brown card.
I then placed a tape ribbon in the bottom right hand corner with the sentiment placed on top, and it the opposite top left I placed another ribbon with a button on top. To finish of I diecut a model and placed in the bottom left and a selection of buttons and embellishments around the mounted image.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope you will go and visit The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will take part in this "Ribbons and Buttons" Challenge.

Challenge #196 - Wedding or Anniversary - Pink Gem Designs

Good Morning Gemsters, Im writing up this post a couple of weeks early due to the fact that Im hoping by the time this also goes live that I will be recovering from a operation, keep your fingers crossed all goes well. Well the update to this is I have now got my provisional operation date the 5th July, so Im really hoping that it goes ahead without any hiccups as its been a struggle to get this far but hoping once its done I can start to live some sort of normality again.
Anyway todays theme is all about "Weddings and Anniversary's" and if your anything like me I certainly do have a lot of these sort of cards to deal with during the year.
As always our brilliant sponsor and designer is Janet Roberts of Pink Gem Designs  do please go and visit the Pink Gem Designs website and see for yourself

what beautiful images and papers she has created for you to play with.
And here is the Card I created for this Challenge

These two are titled "Mr and Mrs Hedgie" and you will find them here, they are definitely a cute couple I printed them onto white card then used my copic pens to colour them, afterwards I used a Little B Heart shape die to cut them out and a fancy one from the same die set for the mount out of blue card, I have also stamped a sentiment on another piece of white card and used a smaller die to cut this out and again used a fancy one for the mount.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of blue card, the papers I have used are also from Pink Gem Designs and this design is titled "Blue Sweetheart" and you will find it here, I then used a piece of white lace to wrap around the right hand side of the card, then on top of this I have put a heart doily towards the left with my mounted image on towards and the mounted sentiment in the bottom right hand corner.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope you will pay a visit to the Pink Gem Designs Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will want to take part in this "Weddings and Anniversary" Challenge.

Challenge #297 - Flower Power - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers Im writing up this post a couple of weeks before it goes live and Im hoping by the actual date that it does I will be recovering from a operation (still not date, still waiting) so in the mean time Nikki one of my Design Team has been promoted to taking on the responsibility of running the Challenges for now, I do hope that you will support her every way you can Im really grateful to her, thank you my love.
This weeks Challenge is all about  "Flowers" and if your anything like me the more the merrier but of course with the postal charges going up all the time the cheapest way is to find colourful printed backing papers instead but on this card I have gone a bit mad hope you like the results.

And now for the big reveal

and Im really pleased with the end result this little chap is called "Cheerful Humming Bird" and you will find him here, I printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him, afterwards I used one of Sue Wilsons dies to cut him out and a fancy one for the mount out of beige card.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with the first mount out of the same beige card and the backing paper is also from the same digi image set and you will find it here,  I  used a sentiment from my stash which I stamped onto white card and cut in the same shape as the main image, this was then mounted on top of some beige card and placed in the bottom right hand corner.
I then placed my mounted image in the center and around it I used leaf dies and white and pink lily flowers, and to finish of I have used several different coloured Nuvo drops from Tonic, down the right hand side.
I do hope you like the result and if you do please do go and visit The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will want to take part in this "Flower Power" Challenge.
