A Card for the Sir Stampalot "Poppy" Challenge

I was looking through my stamps the other day and found a poppy stamp, and as if by chance I also came across a challenge for which it is just ideal and that is:-
So this is the card I started to create.
I used a stamp that I had been given as a freebie on one of my craft magazines, it was stamped onto white card and for a change I thought I would use my Karisma polycromatic pencils, I used several reds and oranges to get the shades I wanted, then cut it out with my oval Nestabilitie die, afterwards I cut a mount out of red card with a deckle edge one. The sentiment is one from my stash and has been also mounted onto a piece of the same red card.
The card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of red card, and I was lucky to find a "Poppy" digi paper set from Creative Cottage which I felt went well with the colour scheme. The first is a red background then on top I have used two strips on which I have used one of my Martha Stewart Flower border punches, then a Ive wrapped a ribbon around the middle and positioned my mounted image towards the right, and the sentiment at the bottom on the left.
I then wrapped three poppies in a bunch with a piece of velvet ribbon and tied it in a bow and stuck it at the top on the left.

A Card for Magnolia Challenges

Good Afternoon All, well the sun is out and theres a lovely breeze here in Gloucestershire, mind you its still hot and our dog is feeling it just as much. Anyway todays card has been made for this weeks Magnolia "In the Country" Challenge and any other one I can find. Ive used this sweet Tilda image carrying a bunch of flowers, not sure what they are meant to be, probably hellibores but I wouldnt depend on that. Ive coloured it with my copics then cut it out with my square Nestabilitie Die, then used with some lilac card a Heart Square from Spellbinders. The sentiment is one from my stash and has also been mounted on some lilac card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card, but Ive also cut a 8" square then used the larger Martha Stewart Border and Corner punches to create a mount for the smaller one, the papers I have used are from Nitwits "Oh the Possibilities" digi paper set. Its all shades of pink and lilac and Ive used several papers, the main one under the mount is one with lilac punches on and the rest I used on the rolled flower in the top left hand corner.
Ive used a large piece of Cobweb ribbon around the card, then on top I have placed a lavender satin ribbon which was attached to the back of the first mount, I then cut a Cheery Lynn doily and tucked it under the ribbon in the bottom left hand corner. The mounted image was then positioned to the right and the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. Ive also cut a flower with a Memory Box die and this was stuck in the bottom left hand corner. To finish of Ive used several of the left over papers to create the rolled flower in the top left corner and this was stuck to the card with some punched out leaves on some silicone glue.

A Card for Several Challenges

Good Morning Crafters, or should I say Campers? wow wasnt it a hot one yesterday, this is how bad it was for our dog Missy
Im not sure what she thinks shes doing, but we found her like this several times yesterday, she doesnt normally sleep on her back with her legs in the air, but oh well I suppose when its hot you have to find away to cool your tummy.
Anyway todays card was created for this weeks Sugary Sunday and Sundays with Santa "Anything Goes" Challenges on Facebook, Ive also used the Sugar Bowl sketch so I can add it to that challenge as well. The image is Im not totally sure a Xmas one but felt it was near enough so Ive stamped her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used Nestabilitie Die Labels no.17 to cut it out and then drawn around the die to create the mount. The sentiment is one of the LOV circle stamps and has been also mounted on a piece of the same green card as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of green card and the papers I used are from Echo Parks "Holly Jolly Xmas" paper set, the first is a green background with white snowflakes on, the second is a strip of red and white spots and the third a sentiment paper which was stuck as the sketch required. The mounted image was then positioned towards the left and the sentiment at the bottom on the right. To finish of I have used several punched out Martha Steward snowflake shapes which I have mounted up and popped a large pearl in the center of it and placed at the top on the right.

Bearlymine Designs 45th Challenge - "Shaped Cards"

Good Morning All, I do hope your enjoying the drier weather, I certainly took advantage of it on Saturday and shampooed all my carpets, luckily most of them did'nt take to long to dry and they do look a lot cleaner to. You should have seen the dirt that came up out of them you don't realise how much dirt you grind into your carpets do you? Anyway back to this weeks Bearlymine Designs Challenge, and for this one we want to see "Shaped Cards" some of you do brilliantly at this, Im not so good so I rather cheated and just cut a fancy edge to mine.
Anyway before I show you my card I had better let you know who the sponsor is for this weeks Challenge and that is

Donna's papers are just gorgeous you really should go and visit her website and see for yourself, she puts such a lot of thought into her designs and they are really reasonable in this modern time. And now here is my card for this weeks challenge.
I used a large Go Create die to create the shape of my card, then used smaller ones for the mounts, the beautiful papers I have used are from Donna's "Petunia Parade" digi paper set and you will find them here. I have also used a Lili of the Valley image which I have stamped then coloured with my copic pens before cutting it out completely and positioning if on top of a Cheery Lynn Heart Die shape.
And before placing my image in the centre I wrapped a piece of binding tape around the middle and stuck it to the back of the first mount.
The sentiment is one from my stash thats been stamped onto a piece of white card then mounted on pink and positioned at the bottom on the right. Ive also used a swirl of pearls in the bottom left and top right corners, and for the final flourish I used another of the Cheery Lynn Flower dies then I layered it up and positioned in the top left hand corner and stuck it to the card with silicone glue on top of several leaves that were also cut using yet more of the Cheery Lynn dies.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit the Bearlymine Designs Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will take part in this "Shaped Cards" Challenge.

Sarah Hallam's brand new CD "Word Play"

Good Morning All, just wanted to remind you that my very dear friend Sarah Hallam has two, one hour programes on Create and Craft tomorrow previewing her brand new CD "Word Play" the times of the programes are 10am and 1pm. I should also tell you that I had an email from Sarah this afternoon telling me that some the images you see here like Bond and Beetles will not be on the CD you buy from Create and Craft but if you would like them you will get them directly from Sarah Hallam's own website http://www.peerlessdesigns.org/index.asp  as she has included them on her own stock, and my honest opinion is get it there you wont have to pay postage.

And Im sure if wont be the only CD she will be promoting but this is the latest one, and its a very clever play with words that are created into pictures, and I was lucky enough to play with it and create several samples for her to show on the TV and here are they are.

This is one of the design sets on the CD and you will also be amazed at the beautiful papers, tags etc, and as you can see this one is a Air Balloon and if you look closely you will find its made of words.

Heres the famous four, no doubt you know who they are and I dont have to tell you.

This particular one Im quite proud of and I reakon it looks gorgeous, hope you agree.

My favourite Bond actor.

And here is the love bug, how many of you have had this model.

And here is my final sample, I do hope they help Sarah to sell her new CD and that you also will be watching Create and Craft to see what the rest of her Design Team have created with this very clever CD.

And now back to this weeks Challenge and for this one I have produced this card.

This little lady is called "Gypsy Dance" and you will find her here, and the paper I have used for my card came with her.  Ive printed her onto a piece of white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used the large Mega Oval from Nestabilities to cut her out, and cut a larger one for her mount.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and as I said I used the paper that actually came with the image, and you will find it here, I stuck this on top of some blue card and then stuck it to the base card. I then used one of the Swirl dies from Cheery Lynn and placed them either side of her, and with some of some papers from the Victorian Beauty paper set which you will find here, Ive punched out several flowers and shaped them and attached them to the swirls, in the middles I have dropped some pearldrops, and also popped some in the centres of the other flowers. The sentiment was one I downloaded from the internet and printed it onto another piece of white card and mounted it at the bottom on the right.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented design team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will take part in this "Anything Goes" Challenge.

A Card for the Saturated "Bring on the Bling" Challenge

Good Afternoon All, well yes Ive actually managed to make a card today though how Ive managed I dont know as we are of to Bristol presently to search for my outfit for my grandsons wedding in a months time, and Im also meeting up with my fellow blogger "Elma" from Germany, shes over here for a holiday and weve arranged to meet at the Hilton in Bristol, so if this post is short I hope you will forgive me.
Ive used this sweet image "Double Take" from Saturated Canary, and printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, because I made her bigger than the dies Ive had to use my rotatrim to cut her out then mounted her onto a piece of pink card. The sentiment is one of stash ones that Ive mounted in the same way as my image.
The base card as always is a 6"x 6" white card and the first mount is pink card, the papers I have used are from Nitwits, not sure of their name at the moment as Im in bit of a rush, but will have a look later.
I mounted the base layer with three mounts and then placed my image towards the left and the sentiment at the bottom on the right, but before doing this I wrapped a piece of lace around the middle and attached it to the back.
To finish of I have used a creative expressions pearl swirl down the right hand side and created a floral spray with five roses and glittered them up with some stickles.

DT Call over on The Paper Shelter

We are having a Design Team Call over on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot, if you are interested in joining Mine and Marie's established teams we would love for you to show us what you are capable of.
The DT Call will last till July 20th and its the separate post at the top of the Challenge Blog, so you have two weeks to show us your work.
We are very lucky to have generous sponsers in Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter, and they will give you all their new images for the next six months while you are with us, and you will be able to extend this if you want to stay after this.
You will be expected to make a card for the Design Team every two weeks, as Marie and I share the Team Leader work so it gives you plenty of time between each Challenge to make up your card. We also have our themes already sorted up until the end of the year, so you can even make up your cards in advance if you work this way, I do.
If you are chosen to join us you will be expected to start from 1st of August, or I should say some of the new members will, as Marie and I will pick the ones who will be split between the two teams.
Looking forward to seeing what you might come up with, so I hope you enjoy your time with us if you are one of the lucky chosen to join us, and even if your not there is always another chance to take part in 6 months time.

A Card for the LOV "Anything Goes" Challenge

Good Afternoon All, well its been a dry day and the sun has made it quite hot and sticky, so weve used it and got the grass cut, as I expect you already know weve been promised more rain this weekend and I didnt want it to be left to grow any longer. Weve also got our months shopping to do so thats something to look forward to, not really I hate shopping its always a chore, if you think about it you move the same thing once from the shelf to the trolley, then from the basket to the checkout, then back into your bag in the trolley, then roll it out to your car, move it from the trolley to the car, drive home and of course you have to remove it from the car to the house, and thats before you even start to put it away, if you count up all the times youve moved it, it soon adds up.
Well now back to more happy things todays card has been created for the Lili of the Valley "Anything Goes" Challenge, and Ive used this sweet image of this pair and coloured it with my copic pens, then used Nestabilitie Die No.1 to cut it out, then used a larger one for the mount. The sentiment has been done in the same way.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and for the first mount I used the blue card, the papers Ive used are by Maya and its "Vintage Summer Basics" and the first paper is a blue background with pink roses on, the second is a double sided paper which has blue one side with a beige side with blue and pink design on the other, and I have used both of them with the other mounts.
I then positioned my mounted image in the centre with the sentiment at the bottom on the right. To finish of I have used six different sized roses and some punched out leaves and created a spray in the bottom left hand corner.

Anyway back to this weeks Challenge which is all about "Flower Power" and we shall want to see lots of flowers on your cards but before I show you my card Im sure you will want to know what the prize is. As usual Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter are offering you
$20 to spend on their website, but to be in a chance of winning the whole amount you must use one of their products on your card, but even if you don't you will still win 3 digi images of your own choice if your picked by random org. and I can not think of anything more generous that this.
And now I will show you my card.
For my card I have used this sweet image called "Lovely Blossoms" and you will find it here, I have printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her then used my square nestabilitie die to cut her out, and then mounted her onto a larger square. The sentiment I have used is one from my stash and has been treated in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink card, the papers I have used are from the "So Girly" paper set and you will find them here. This first paper has large flowers on and the second has smaller ones with stripes on it. I then used the Spring border die from Memory Box and positioned it down the bottom edge.
I then positioned my mounted image in the centre with the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. I then used some of the left over papers and the rolled flower dies from Die-namics and created four flowers with them, these were then stuck to the top left hand corner on top of punched out leaves which were attached to the card with silicone glue.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope you will go and visit The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented design team have created for you and hopefully it will inspire you to take part in this weeks "Flower Power" Challenge.
