The Paper Shelters 57th Challenge - "Easter"

Good Morning Everyone, well yet another week has flown by and we are almost in April and the holdiay season, so we thought we would get ahead of the game and devote this weeks challenge to "Easter" so hopefully it will give your lots of time to get your cards done and into the post for all little ones you make for.
And of course this week as always we are being sponsered by our very talented and generous couple Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter and they are offering

a $20. gift Voucher to spend on the Website The Paper Shelter, and this is providing you have used one of their stunning images or other products on your card, but even if you havent they will still offer you three digi images of your own choice, you just carnt loose with this Challenge.
And here is my card for this Challenge

And this little chap (from last years designs) is called the "Easter Bunny" and you will find it here, Ive printed him onto white card then used my copic and tria pens to colour him, afterwards I used the Nestabilitie Egg Die to cut him out then drew around the die to create the mount for it out of dark blue card. The sentiment is one from my stash and has been treated in the same way.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card and for my papers I have used the "Easter" papers from The Paper Shelter and you will find them here, this first paper is a pretty pink background with a design of easter eggs along the bottom, I then used another of the papers and one of the Cheery Lynn Doily dies which I have cut out and placed behind the mount image, but before sticking it down I wrapped a easter egg ribbon around the card and attached it to the back of the first mount.
The mounted image was then stuck in the centre and to finish of I have used the border Nestabilitie die and cut a strip out and rolled it into a flower (top tip), which I then stuck to the card on top of some punched out  holly leaves.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and I do hope you will all visit their own blogs and leave them some love as they really do work hard to create this beautiful cards and Im so lucky to have them on my "A" Team. I do hope that you will take part in this "Easter" Challenge.

Cards for Men - Challenge 7 - "The Great Outdoors"

Well as I write up this post I would say it would be lovely to be outside as the sun is out and its quite warm, hubby has gone of to Norchard (near Lydney) to play trains, they have a steam railway system there and he loves being involved and volunteers every Saturday to it. Anyway back to this fortnights Challenge and this one is for "The Great Outdoors" and we are being sponsered by Karens Doodles this time,

And they are offering 3 digi images as a prize, and this is what they say about themselves:-

And we were lucky enough to have several gorgeous images to play with, and this is the one I chose to use, its called "Man in a Hammock".

He reminds me so much of my laid back brother-in-law, its the sort of thing he would be doing in the great outdoors rather than the grass mowing. Anyway I printed the image onto white card then used my copic pens to colour it, then used Nesbilitie Labels Die No.8 to cut it out then drew around the die to create the mount for it, The sentiment was one I created on my computer and printed it out and mount it in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and the first mount is a green one and the papers I have used are from the Nitwits "At the Park" digi downloads, the first one is a blue sky with clouds on, the second is
green grass paper and the third a stripe. On top of this is the mounted image in centre with the sentiment at the bottom on the right, I then used some of the left over green card and used the grass Marianne die and stuck it along the bottom of the second mount.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit The Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the fabulous cards the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration and I do hope it will encourage you to take part in this "Great Outdoors" Challenge.

A Card for Sunday's with Santa

Good Morning Everyone, well the sun is out and its already quite warm and I somehow expect our dog will want a walk later on so it should be a lovely day to do so. Anyway this is the card I made for this weeks Sundays with Santa on Facebook and Ive used this snowman from The Paper Shelter and you will find it here. Ive printed it onto white card and coloured it with my copic pens and then cut it out with my rotatrim and mounted it onto dark blue card, Ive used lots of glitter on the card as its a "Shiney Sparkles" Challenge and you know that snow glistens so I tried to put enough on to show you it doing that.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card and I have used two papers from Donna's Bearlymine "Christmas" digi papers, the first is a sentiment and snowflake paper, then on top is a snowflake paper that I have cut into a 5" square and then with my Martha steward border and corner Snowflake punch around all edges then positioned it in the centre with the mounted image on top. The sentiment is one of the Just Rite stamps thats been coloured and then mounted on a circle die.

A second card for Sugary Sunday on Facebook

Good Morning Everyone, well the sun is out and it looks as if its going to be a lovely day, lets hope so. We had a fabulous time at the NEC yesterday and yes I did spend lots of money but hubby seemed ok with that thankfully, I also got to meet up with the lovely Marianne (Fisher), Lisa (Baker) and Lynsey (Warren), we had a right old chat and even had a couple of photos taken so dont be surprised if you see it out there in blogland. Anyway at the begining of the week I actually made two cards for this weeks Sugary Sunday over on Facebook, I posted my first one of my No.2 blog and I thought for a change I would post this second one here on my No.1. As Im going to be quite busy over the next few days creating cards for Sarah Hallam of Peerless Designs (will be posting my sample cards on my No.2 blog in next few days) I felt Id rather neglected you and thought you might like to see a card for a change, hope you like it.
Anyway this is one of the new Pip digi images, and I love this little one with her lamb, Ive printed her onto white card and coloured it with my copic pens then cut it out with the Nestabilitie Die Labels No.4 and then used a larger one for the mount. The sentiment is one from my stash and has been treated in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and for my first mount of blue card on top I have layered up with papers from the Nitwits "At the Park" digi paper set, the first is a white background with multi coloured flowers on, the second is a yellow and white stripe and the third is a blue spot one. I then positioned my mounted image towards the left and the sentiment at the bottom on the right, and to finish of Ive used some of the left over papers and a die-namics flower die and stuck it to the top of the right hand corner on top of some punched out leaves. The final flourish I used two of the Epiphany buttons which were cut out of some of the left over paper then positioned down the right hand side.

Bearymine Designs Challenge #27 - "Simply Dots"

Good Morning Everyone, its been three months since we had a challenge over on Bearlymine Designs this has been because our owner Donna of Bearlymine has been having problems with her nerve ends and felt at that time she couldnt cope and needed time to see if things would improve, unfortunately things havent but shes now decided to go forward and carry on, and today is the start of a weekly challenge and for this one she wants to see all "Dots" on your cards. So all I can say is its such a wonderful thing that Donna has decided to do and I want to wish her all the best and to thank her for giving us all the chance to take part in her Design Teams.
And as I said this weeks challenge is "Simply Dots" and we are being sponsered by Donna herself and she is offering:-

And for this Challenge I created this card:-

And for my image I used "Magic Bubble Bath" from The Paper Shelter and your will find it here, and I printed it onto white card and coloured it with my copic pens before cutting it out with a circle Nestabilitie Die, and for my mounted I have used  the Cheery Lynn "Pastry Die" and then for my sentiment I used one of my stash stamps and have mounted it onto a piece of blue card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card and for my papers I used Donna's
Bearlymine Designs  "Simply Dots" digi papers and you will find them here, in several different colours pink, peach, blue and mauve and used a Martha Stewart border punch along the edges then layered them up on top of the first mount.
I then wrapped a pink spotted ribbon around the middle and mounted my image in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right. I also stuck some pearls in opposite corners and to finish of I have used some of the left over papers and cut out a Spellbinders flower and rolled it up and mounted it to the card in the top left hand corner on a punched out leaf swirl from Cheery Lyn.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope you will go and visit the Bearlymine Designs Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented DT Team have created for you and perhaps it will inspire you to take part in this "Simply Dots" Challenge.

And now back to my card for this Challenge.
And for my card Ive used "Little Cowboy" for my image and your will find him here, Ive printed him onto white card then used my copic and tria pens to colour him, afterwards I cut him out with Nestabilitie Label Die No.1 and the larger one for the mount out of dark blue card. The sentiment is one I generated on my computer and printed it out and then used the star die to cut this out, and mounted it in the same way as the image.
The card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of dark blue card and for my papers I have used "Little Cowboy" digi set and you will find them here, the first paper is a beige background with swirls on and for the second is a star paper which I have cut shorter than the mount and then used a star border punch down the one edge and layered it up on top of the first paper.
The image was then positioned towards the top left and with sentiment below on the right, to finish of I have used a couple more stars in corresponding colours and the final flourish is the cowboy hat charm thats been stuck to the top star.

Cards for Men - Challenge #6 - "Cheeky Chappies"

Good Morning Everyone, hope you had a fabulous weekend and now I want to invite you to take part in this fortnights challenge "Cheeky Chappies" over on Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot. We are being sponsered this time by Buggaboo and they are offering you a prize of 7 digi images of your own choice.

And this is what they say about their company:-

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps stamps at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug.

And we were lucky to have been given several images to play with and I chose this one.

Isnt he a character I love the look on his face, I printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him and then cut him out with my Nestabilitie Rectangle die and then cut a larger one for the mount out of red card. The sentiment was one I created on my computer and printed it out and mounted it in the same way as the image.
The card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of red card, and the three papers Ive used are from the Nitwit Downloads "Super Stewy" paper set, the papers where cut across the middle and Ive used a piece and then one of my border punches and tucked it behind the check paper. Its a simple design and I then positioned my mounted image in the middle with the sentiment underneath.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pop across to the Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot to see what the rest of the very talented team have created for your inspiration and I do hope that you will also take part in this "Cheeky Chappie" Challenge.

Anyway Im sorry I havent posted any cards for a few days but still trying to get over the busy time we had last week and Im hoping to get back to some sort of normality by next week but we shall see. Todays card has been created for the Saturated Canary's "Doilie Challenge, and Ive used this sweet image for my card and coloured it with my tria pens then used the Nestabilitie Die Labels No.11 to cut it it out then used the die again to create the mount. DT Card for PaperCrafting "Anything Goes" Challenge

A few weeks ago Marie and I were asked if we would create a card for a Challenge that The Paper Shelter were sponsering over on PaperCrafting Journey, and what with the funeral Id completely forgotten about it, so to make amends I will show you the card I made and give you the link so that you can take part in the Challenge "Anything Goes" that is now running.
And I have used the toothfairy for my card and you will find her here, the papers are also from The Paper Shelters, but I seem to have lost the title of them at the moment I will try and track them down presently, I think its probably "Spring Swing" and you will find them here. Anyway I have printed the image onto white card then used my copics and tria pens to colour then used one of the Nestabilitie Dies to cut her out, and used it again on some green card and turned it so that the round shapes who in the opposite corners. The sentiment is one from my stash. The sketch is one that I created and used four papers to layer up, the mounted image was then positioned in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. To finish of I have used the left over papers and one of die-namic rolled flower dies to create the flowers in the top right hand corner and stuck them to the card on some punched out leaves with some silicone glue. (Ive had to repost this post as the first time it wouldnt show my other posts.

A Card for this weeks "Sundays with Santa" Challenge

Good Morning Everyone, well after a shaky start the sun has decided to come out and its starting to dry up. We are now nearly back to normal after a busy couple of days with my MILs funeral, and now hopefully we can start the grieving process without all the stress, and its certainly been that since she died two weeks ago. My husbands youngest daughter, granddaughter and step son arrived Thursday evening to spend a night, and this meant a complete turn around of our bedroom and my craftroom, but its all back to normal and I can start to sort myself out.
The funeral was lovely and we had a really nice lady vicar who conducted it, and the hymns were on Cds as we were rather a small congregation, my middle daughter Sarah came with a friend from Towcester so it was a lovely intimate family gathering to say our last goodbyes to her. My husband did have a few tears during the service and his little granddaughter came and gave him a really big hug which of course any granddad would love and enjoy, and of course he did.
But now back to my card, its for this weeks Sundays with Santa Challenge and this weeks its "Never seen Ink" one and as Ive not had a chance to use this Paper Shelter "Winter Princess" image I thought it would be just right. Ive printed her onto white card before colouring her with my copic and tria pens, I then cut her out with the Memory box die, and used another for the mount, its a very pretty scroll edge one and felt it just set the image of.
The papers are from Nitwits, its one of the Christmas digi sets, and the first paper is an all over snowflake pattern then on top is a 5"square of dark blue patterned paper that has had the border and corners punched with my Martha Stewart punch set.
I then used one of the Whimsey sentiment stamps for my sentiment and cut it out with a circle Nestabilite die, and a larger one for the mount.
