Challenge #20 - Cards for Men - "Myth and Legend"

Good Morning Crafters, this week is a very special one for me as Im travelling up to Scotland on Thursday for my eldest daughters wedding, on the way Im going to visit my very dear friend Elaine so Im really looking forward to that, shes such a lovely person that Im really excited at meeting her face to face for the first time. Then if that was not enough on the way home Im visiting yet another of my dear friends Avril so Im one lucky lady with lots of lovely things to look forward to.
Anyway I had better get back to work as I wont get my post written up if I dont, this weeks Challenge over at Cards for Men is all about "Myth and Legend" and that covers anything that your heart desires, and for this one we are being sponsored by "Bugaboo"

and they are offering a fabulous prize of
of winners choice.

And here is what they say about themselves:-

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps stamps at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug.

And here is the card I created for this Challenge.

I have used the Bugaboo "Witch Cat" this may be a old image thats been discontinued as I was unable to find it on their website, but I felt it was just right for my card as I know children love anything with spiders and cats, or at least my grandchildren do.
Ive printed the image onto white card then used my copic pens to colour it, afterwards I used the Memory box die to cut it out and inked around the edge, then used the Spider corner also from Memory box to use as a overlay.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and the papers I have used are from The Paper Shelters "Studies of a Witch" digi paper set, the first a deep purple and the second a paler one on which I have used a Martha Steward spiderweb border punch, then on top of this is a orage one which has been placed on black card. These were all layered up on a black first mount.
The the mounted image was placed towards the left and then I have punched out Memory Box bats in several sizes and a spider which I hung from the corner spider web, and the final flourish is the spider charm in the bottom left hand corner.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to the Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration.

Ive been playing with the new Tonic Wreath Ring Dies

Ive been busy playing with two of the new Tonic Wreath Ring Dies, the top one is the Holly one and the bottom is the Decorative one, I used Pearlescent white card for both of them, on the top one I have used just the inner ones to cut two rings, and the bottom I have used the two one of them cut the inner edge completely.
For the holly wreaths are two stamps one is a Stampendous one and the other a Woodware one, I stamped both onto white card then used my copic pens to colour them, for the top card I cut the wreath out and for the second it was positioned behind the cut out circle.
The base cards are A5 ones and the top one has the red card behind the cut out pieces and the bottom one its been used as a mount.
I then placed both onto the white base cards and created two poinsetta flowers with the Tattered lace die and placed them at the top of the left hand corner on top of punched out holly leaves, I put some glitters in the middle with Stickles. And for the top card I have used the die cut sentiment across the bottom right hand corner and for the bottom I have placed the smaller die cut sentiment across the holly wreath in the center.

The main card is a 6"x 6" one but has been folded three folds, these were covered with the papers from the same "3D Movie" images and papers and you will find them here, then on these two I have placed the two images at staggered places, and across the back I have used two die cut film strips, and the sentiment is from my stash and placed it the top place of the larger film strip.

Challenge #19 - "String if Up" - Cards for Men Challenge

Good Morning Crafters, well its certainly been a wet weekend for us here in Gloucestershire and I suppose this is the type of weather we are going to have to endure, as no doubt we are on the way to Autumn, its so depressing I dont like the dark evenings or the cold wet days, but then Im a Spring and Summer girl so I suppose I will just have to accept it and just get on with things.
Anyway this fortnights Challenge over on Cards for Men is a "String it Up" one and this is all about putting bakers twine or string on your cards, I know it was very popular a few months ago so Im sure you will be able to dig it out of your stash and then add it to your card.
This time we are being sponsored by Digital Delights

And they are offering a fabulous prize of : $5 Gift Voucher

and this is what they say about themselves:-

And here is what I made for this Challenge:-
For my card I used "Casey goes Fishing" this is a old image for Digital Delights but Im sure some of you might still have it in your library so I cant give you a link to it. I have printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used my rotatrim to cut him out and then created a mounted from blue card. The sentiment is one from the Digi Paper Set that I used for my card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card, and the papers as I said are digital ones and they are from Sweetshoppe "Hook, Line and Sinker" paper set, the first is a blue background with fish all over it, the second is a beige one and I have cut a strip and then used a EK success border punch on it, and the third paper is a stripped one which has been stuck to a blue mount and then around it I have wrapped some bakers twine around it I then tied a knot at the top.
I have placed the mounted image in the center and the mounted sentiment at the bottom on the right.
To finish of I have used two fish buttons and I have threaded more of the bakers twine through the holes and tied a not in the ends, then used a coat and fishing rod buttons below these, and then in the opposite corner I have placed a basket button.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to the Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will take part in this "String it Up" Challenge.

A Card for Sundays with Santa (Facebook) and Sugar Bowl

Good Afternoon Crafters, a couple of weeks ago Sugar Nellie had 4 new digital images for sale, and this is one of them isnt he cute, my eldest daughter loves Penquins so this will probably go to her when the time comes.
I have printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him, afterwards I used Nestabilitie Labels Die No.28 and the mount has been cut out with the Decorative one of the same number. The sentiment is one from my stash and  has been cut as a tag, as the Challenge this week over on Facebook for Sundays with Santa is "Tag It".
The card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of red card, the papers are from First Edition "Silent Night" paper pad, this first paper is a blue background then on top is a white snowflake one which has had the punched out in the corners and borders with Martha Stewart punches and then placed on top of the first mount. The around the middle I have  used a ribbon and attached to the back of the first mount.
I then placed my mounted image in the center with the tag popped in the bottom right hand corner. And to finish of I have punched out snowflakes which have been glittered with german glass glitter and layered up and then placed in the top left hand corner, and one in the top right.

Sugar Bowl and Sugary Sunday Challenges

Yes well for me this is a rare treat (at least I hope it is for you to) I have created another card and posted it so thats three in one week, maybe Im starting to turn a corner but then again maybe not. Anyway I bought the 4 new Christmas images from Funky Kits on Saturday and I though I would use this sweet Fairy for my first card, I hope you like it as much as I do, I have coloured her with my copics as always and then used Nestabilitie Labels Die No.8 to cut her out, then used a fancy one for the mount. The sentiment is a Papercrafts die and I have used red card to cut them out with.
The base card is a 7"x 7" yes a different size as the die is quite big, and I have used Joanna Sheen Christmas papers for this card, but Im getting ahead of myself I have used red card for my first mount and I ran it through my embosser with one of the new Embossalious dies, the holly one. I then cut a 6.75" square and used the holly border and corner punches from Martha Stewart to create the first layer, then the Ive done the second one exactly the same but with a 5" square. Then down the middle I have  used a white and holly printed ribbon and attached it to the back of the first mount.
The mounted image was then placed in the center and the sentiment down the right hand side. I then punched out holly leaves with two of the Martha Stewart punches and with some berry sprays have created a floral spray in the top left hand corner.

But before I show you what I have been up to you will want to know who is sponsoring us and of course its our very generous sponsors Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter and they are offering a voucher of $30.
But as always this is provided you have used one of their products on your card, but even if you do not they will still give you 3 digi's of your own choice, and believe me when I say they have a brilliant library of them and are forever updating it to.
Before I show you what I have been up to I want to bring to your attention that The Paper Shelter is hosting a Design Team Call over the next few days, so you will need to go and visit The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot to see what is required of you if you would like to join our very talented Design Teams, and good luck.
And now to show you my card which will be winging itself of to my hubbys granddaughter in the next few days.
For my card I have used this sweet image "Learning is Fun" and you will find it here, and I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I cut her out completely. The sentiment is one I googled and cut and pasted it into Microsoft word and then printed it, cut it out and mounted it onto a piece of beige card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and the first mount is another piece of beige card and the paper is also from the "Learning is Fun" digi paper set which you will find here, and I pasted this onto the beige base card. I then placed my cut out image in the center and the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
To finish of I have used several letter buttons and then numbers to finish it of.

Challenge #18 - Cards for Men - "Tag It"

Good Morning Crafters, my hasn't this year gone by so quickly now we are into September and the children are due back at School in the next two weeks, I bet they are all excited about that especially the new pupils starting at new Schools this year, I know my hubbys granddaughter is starting on the 6th so we hope she really enjoys it.
Anyway this fortnights Challenge over at Cards for Men is themed "Tag It" so we want to see a tag somewhere on your card, you could create a tag shape card or even add it as a embellishment for my card I have created a pocket for mine. But back to our sponsor and this time its Heather Dennis of Fresh Brewed Designs.

And she is offering a fabulous prize of $10 Gift Certificate to spend on her website.
And this is what she says about herself and company:-

Hi. I am Heather Dennis. I am a homeschooling mother of 2 wonderful children, the wife of 12 years to the love of my life, a Christian and the owner of Fresh Brewed Designs. I have loved to draw and create ever since I was a child. My daughter has inherited my love of art and recently inspired me to start creating again.
All the images in my shop are hand drawn. I offer a wide range of images from coffee, cute and inspirational. I also love to create custom drawn images, so if you are looking for anything in particular, please feel free to drop me an email.

And we were lucky enough to be given several images to play with and I chose this one on the Tag.

I decided to create a Shaped card, and drew the shape of the Hot Air Balloon onto card then cut around it to create the shape, on the balloon I used a paper from Sweetshoppe Digi "Time Flies" papers and this was stuck in the balloon shape. I then used some twine for the ropes and stuck then down with some clear glue, at the joints i have used dew drops to cover the knots.
I then created a pocked for the basket with some more of the paper from the same paper set, this was stuck over the basked shape at the bottom ready for the tag.
I printed the hot air balloon image onto white card then coloured it with my copic pens, afterwards I used a Go Kreate Tag die and inked around the edge to make it look like sky, I then stamped the sentiment across the bottom and fed some ribbon through the hole at the top, then placed the tag in the pocket of the hot air balloon.
Now that you've seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to the Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to want to take part "Tag It" Challenge.
